Fujairah Hosts Exhibition from Zayed National Museum

Fujairah Hosts Exhibition from Zayed National Museum

Post by : Badri Ariffin

Fujairah is now home to the latest iteration of the Zayed National Museum’s travelling exhibition, providing locals with a unique opportunity to delve into the UAE's rich Islamic and cultural heritage. The event, titled Introducing Zayed National Museum: Rooted in Faith, is set to continue through 18 December 2025, portraying how Islamic principles are intricately linked with Emirati culture.

This exhibition offers a sneak peek into the Zayed National Museum, slated to open on 3 December 2025, emphasizing the legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Founding Father, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi of Fujairah, acknowledging their contributions to unity, generosity, and nationhood.

Attendees will find a selection of extraordinary artifacts, such as a 16th-century Ming dynasty incense canister engraved with al-Shahada and Celadon pottery fragments sourced from Bidya, showcasing centuries of cultural exchange. Architectural models, like a replica of the historic Bidya Mosque and the upcoming Zayed National Museum, offer a glimpse into the nation’s architectural heritage and innovative designs. A captivating ghaf tree installation invites guests to learn about Sheikh Zayed’s formative years in Al Ain, while an interactive display featuring a Late Mamluk Qur’an from the 16th century highlights intricate Qur’anic texts and annotations.

This edition in Fujairah follows previous displays at the Etihad Museum in Dubai and Ajman Museum, broadening access to the UAE’s significant cultural artifacts. The travelling exhibition enables both residents and visitors to engage with the stories and treasures that will become integral to the nation’s key museum, promoting a deeper appreciation of the UAE's historical values.
