The romantic film Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, featuring Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa, continues to impress at the box office. Launched during Diwali, it had an excellent start, bringing in over ₹9 crore net on its opening day.
Even against stiff competition from the horror-comedy Thamma, the film, directed by Milap Zaveri, managed to sustain its momentum, earning ₹7.50 crore net on Wednesday. This indicates a mere 16.6% decline post-festival, notably better than the 25% drop recorded by Thamma in the same timeframe. To date, the film’s total comes to ₹16.50 crore net over two days, with projections suggesting it might surpass ₹50 crore by the time its six-day opening weekend concludes—a remarkable achievement for a low-budget film starring lesser-known actors.
Helmed by Milap Zaveri, the film also features notable performances from Shaad Randhawa, Sachin Khedekar, and Ananth Narayan Mahadevan.
Marketing for the film was distinctive, with Harshvardhan Rane actively participating by selling tickets at cinemas, promoting the movie with stickers and posters throughout Mumbai, and personally inviting audiences to experience it in theatres.
Given its solid box office performance after Diwali and favorable audience reactions, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat appears poised for a successful run, illustrating that even films without a star-studded cast can thrive with an engaging story, timely release, and effective promotion strategies.
