Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat Maintains Steady Box Office on Day 3

Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat Maintains Steady Box Office on Day 3

Post by : Meena Ariff

Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, the romantic action saga featuring Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa, has successfully retained its box office momentum through its first three days, experiencing only a minor dip after the Diwali festivities. Directed by Milap Zaveri, the film continues to draw strong audiences in non-metro regions, despite receiving mixed reviews from critics.

Box Office Performance by Day

Opening with impressive figures, the film garnered ₹9 crore net in India on its debut day (Tuesday, Diwali). The following day, it experienced a 14% decrease, earning ₹7.75 crore. By Thursday, the film secured an additional ₹6 crore, thus marking a total of ₹22.75 crore net across its first three days.

The decline on Thursday registered at slightly over 22%, suggesting a stable performance for a mid-budget release coming off its festive launch.

Comparison with Thamma

Debuting alongside Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna's Thamma, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has shown a more consistent hold through the weekdays. Despite Thamma enjoying a wider release, it faced nearly a 33% drop on the third day, contrasting with the 22% drop for Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat.

Over the initial three days, Thamma experienced close to a 50% decline from its opening to day three, while Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat restricted its decline to only 33%, pointing to stronger word-of-mouth appeal.

Looking Ahead to the Weekend

The upcoming weekend is critical for the film's overall success. If Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat crosses the ₹50 crore net threshold by Sunday, it will be deemed a commercial triumph, especially considering its modest ₹25 crore budget. Positive audience feedback in smaller towns and Tier-2 cities may further enhance its box office trajectory.

Written and directed by Milap Zaveri, the film stars Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa in pivotal roles, with a supporting cast that includes Shaad Randhawa, Sachin Khedekar, and Ananth Narayan Mahadevan. While critics' opinions vary, the film's resonance with audiences is attributed to its emotional narrative and the chemistry between the lead actors.
