Strengthening Defence Ties: Sheikh Hamdan Hosts Montenegro's Minister

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister, engaged in a meeting today with Dragan Krapović, the Defence Minister of Montenegro, during the Dubai Airshow 2025. This prominent event is recognized globally in the aviation, aerospace, and defence sectors.

Sheikh Hamdan greeted the visiting official warmly and expressed the UAE’s commitment to fostering an enhanced relationship with Montenegro. He indicated the UAE leadership's dedication to strengthening ties with Balkan nations, emphasizing that mutual trust and shared visions form the foundation for their collaboration.

In their dialogue, Sheikh Hamdan underscored the potential benefits that stem from increased joint efforts. He highlighted how both countries could enhance their capabilities through shared experiences in sectors such as economic development, cultural exchanges, and defence advancements. This exchange of knowledge is pivotal for unlocking new avenues for progress.

Sheikh Hamdan further affirmed the UAE’s enduring commitment to global peace, identifying it as essential for sustainable development and success. He advocated for dialogue and understanding as key instruments for conflict resolution and reiterated the UAE’s resolve to support initiatives that foster stability and prosperity globally.

In response, Dragan Krapović thanked the UAE for its proactive role both regionally and internationally. He acknowledged the UAE’s efforts in facilitating peace, promoting dialogue, and executing developmental projects benefiting various communities around the world. Additionally, he commended the UAE for successfully hosting significant global events that enhance international cooperation.

The Montenegro Defence Minister remarked on the profound influence of the Dubai Airshow, stating that it unites global leaders, innovators, and defence technology experts. He noted that the event is instrumental in shaping the future of the aviation, aerospace, and defence landscape, showcasing cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions for societal advancement.

The meeting also encompassed discussions on pressing regional and international matters. Both officials addressed recent developments in the Middle East, focusing on strategies for bolstering security and fostering stability across the region. They affirmed the necessity of achieving lasting peace, which would facilitate development benefiting all nations.

Attendees included Mohamed bin Mubarak bin Fadhel Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, and Major General Khalifa Rashid Al Hamli, Director of the Office of the Minister of Defence. Their presence highlighted the UAE’s commitment to enhancing defence collaboration and international alliances.

The discussions concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to collaborate on defence initiatives, developmental projects, and efforts aimed at building global peace. This meeting further solidified the relationship between the UAE and Montenegro, paving the way for future collaborations across various sectors.
