Kyrgyzstan welcomed internationally known singer Andrew Donalds, the vocalist of the famous musical project “Enigma,” during his working visit to the country this week. The meeting took place in Bishkek where Daiyrbek Orunbekov, Head of the Information Policy Service of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan, received the musician and discussed cultural cooperation and tourism promotion.
During the meeting, Kyrgyz officials highlighted that visits by internationally recognized artists reflect the country’s growing reputation on the global stage. Daiyrbek Orunbekov stated that Kyrgyzstan is becoming more visible internationally due to its economic stability, rapid development, and increasing openness to global partnerships in culture, tourism, and investment.
Orunbekov explained that Kyrgyzstan wants the world to know more about the country not only through official diplomacy but also through the personal experiences of famous global personalities. He added that the music of “Enigma,” known for its emotional and spiritual depth, connects naturally with the beauty, traditions, and peaceful atmosphere of Kyrgyzstan.
The discussion also focused on promoting Kyrgyzstan’s tourism potential. Officials introduced Andrew Donalds to the country’s mountains, lakes, and natural landscapes, describing how visitors can experience all four seasons within a short distance. Kyrgyzstan continues to promote adventure tourism, eco-tourism, hiking, and mountaineering as key attractions for international travelers.
Andrew Donalds thanked Kyrgyz authorities for the warm hospitality and shared his admiration for the country’s rapid progress and modernization. He said he was especially impressed by the friendliness and openness of local people, describing the atmosphere in Kyrgyzstan as welcoming and positive.
Officials believe the visit could strengthen cultural diplomacy and help introduce modern Kyrgyzstan to millions of music fans worldwide. Authorities hope that international artists visiting the country will encourage greater global interest in Kyrgyz culture, tourism, and investment opportunities.
The government has recently increased efforts to improve Kyrgyzstan’s international image by hosting cultural programs, tourism campaigns, and international partnerships. Leaders believe such visits from global celebrities can play an important role in strengthening the country’s soft power and global visibility.
The meeting ended with both sides expressing confidence that music and culture can help build stronger international connections and present Kyrgyzstan as a stable, modern, and attractive destination in Central Asia.
