Gurgaon has a new must-visit dessert destination: Magnolia Bakery. This renowned New York franchise, celebrated for its banana pudding, chocolate cake, and caramel pecan cheesecake, opened on November 16 in Sector 42. The bakery has attracted huge crowds, leading to extensive queues from morning till night as dessert aficionados line up to indulge in its famed creations, including the tres leches cake loved by Alia Bhatt.
However, not everyone is eager to wait endlessly for dessert. Food blogger Suhana Nanda has uncovered three fantastic alternative dessert locations conveniently situated across from Magnolia Bakery. These spots feature innovative, mouthwatering offerings worth a visit.
1. Hosa Restaurant and Bar
Located in DLF Phase 5, Sector 43, Hosa Restaurant and Bar adds a modern spin to South Indian cuisine, including its desserts. Suhana highlights their filter-coffee ice cream paired with Marie biscuits, alongside an unexpected coconut and curry-leaf ice cream crafted from curry-patta oil. The chocolate chili cheesecake drizzled with rich ganache is another treat, ideal for dessert lovers seeking bold flavor profiles.
2. Oju by Neuma
A quick two-minute drive from Hosa, Oju by Neuma, located in The Anya Hotel, Sector 43, is acclaimed for its contemporary Japanese cuisine and lavish dessert offerings. Suhana recommends their lava cake filled with a rich peanut-butter chocolate center, strawberry-coconut-mango mochi ice cream, and a unique jelly noodle dessert topped with granola, fresh fruit, and syrup. Each dessert is not only delicious but also visually striking, making it a preferred choice for food enthusiasts.
3. Japonico
A mere two-minute drive from Oju, Japonico in Tower D, Vipul Tech Square, presents a modern Japanese bar experience that melds various Asian flavors. Their dessert offerings are equally appealing, with Suhana praising the dessert platter featuring soaked tiramisu, a delicate Japanese cheesecake with pineapple, silky mango panna cotta, and a medley of fresh fruits. Each item is elegantly crafted and flavorful, catering to anyone eager to explore inventive Asian desserts.
Despite Magnolia Bakery’s long queues, these three alternative venues offer remarkable and memorable dessert experiences. Whether you favor South Indian delights, Japanese-inspired treats, or a combination of Asian flavors, Gurgaon’s dessert scene has something exceptional to offer—without making you wait.
