Bollywood star Salman Khan again caught attention after posting an Instagram picture showing a well-defined, toned body at 59. The image, shared on Monday, November 3, spread quickly across social media as admirers lauded his discipline. In the photograph, Salman posed shirtless and captioned it, “Kuch haasil karne ke liye kuch chhodna padta hai… Yeh bina chhode hai,” which translates to “To achieve something, you have to give up something… but this was done without giving up.”
The post suggested he avoids extreme diets or rigid regimens. Instead, his maintenance strategy centres on steady exercise, traditional training methods and wholesome home-cooked food — what he refers to as “ghar ka khana.”
Salman’s fitness reputation is built on long-term discipline. What stands out in his programme is an emphasis on balance and routine rather than quick fixes. His longtime trainer, Rakkesh R. Uddiyar, who has worked with him for over two decades, discussed facets of the actor’s approach in an interview with Live Mint earlier this year.
Rakkesh explained that Salman follows an old-school bodybuilding template that uses a method called the “giant set.” Often likened to HIIT (High‑Intensity Interval Training), this format involves chaining several movements together with minimal rest. For chest work, Salman cycles through roughly ten variations — from incline presses to push-ups and fly movements.
A defining element of those sessions is the lack of long pauses: he moves from one exercise to the next with only brief transition breaks of about 30 seconds. Typical workouts last between 45 minutes and an hour, run at high intensity and commonly take place without air conditioning, leading to heavy perspiration.
Rather than lifting maximal weights, Salman prefers volume training — higher repetitions with moderate loads to build strength and stamina while reducing injury risk. As his trainer put it, “HIIT makes you sweat, tires you faster, and burns more calories in less time.”
On nutrition, Salman favours simple, home-prepared meals over elaborate diet plans or excessive supplementation. His plates are structured to deliver balanced amounts of protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats.
He has said he enjoys traditional Indian dishes that provide nutrition without being hard on the stomach, steering clear of junk food and choosing lighter, cleaner options. Hydration is also a priority during and after training.
Rakkesh noted that while the specifics of Salman’s diet may shift depending on a film role, one constant remains: “Eat clean and eat simple.” Typical choices include grilled chicken, eggs, dal, vegetables and brown rice, with processed items largely avoided in favour of fresh ingredients cooked at home.
Beyond exercise and diet, Salman keeps a disciplined daily pattern — sleeping and rising at regular times and working out around six days a week. His focus is on steady adherence rather than extreme exertion.
According to Rakkesh, Salman’s drive is intrinsic. He treats fitness as an enduring lifestyle rather than a temporary goal. “He’s one of the most committed people I’ve trained,” Rakkesh said. “He never skips a workout unless it’s absolutely necessary.”
Salman’s fitness story resonates with fans across ages: his condition approaching 60 underlines that consistency and sensible habits can deliver lasting results. Health professionals often point to his blend of regular training, modest eating and avoidance of extremes as a sustainable path to wellbeing.
The viral photograph served as a reminder that durable fitness is built through persistence, sensible choices and steady effort. Salman’s takeaway for followers is straightforward — you don’t have to sacrifice everything to stay fit; you need commitment and wise habits.
At 59, Salman continues to motivate millions with his energy and resolve. Whether it’s dawn workouts, uncomplicated meals or a practical attitude to fitness, the actor’s regimen underscores that health is a long-term practice rooted in discipline, patience and self-belief.
