Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, arrived in Washington, D.C., on a working visit to participate in the annual Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. The visit highlights Kyrgyzstan’s focus on strengthening global economic partnerships.
The visit began with preparations for high-level meetings with senior officials of the World Bank, including Managing Director Anna Bjerde and Vice President Antonella Bassani. Discussions are expected to focus on ongoing development projects in Kyrgyzstan.
A key agenda item is the advancement of the Kambar-Ata-1 hydropower project, considered strategically important for energy security across Central Asia. The project is expected to play a major role in regional cooperation and economic growth.
The visit also carries significant political importance, with planned bilateral consultations involving representatives of the administration of Donald Trump. These discussions aim to strengthen interstate dialogue and economic ties between Kyrgyzstan and the United States.
In addition to economic and political talks, Kasymaliev will focus on technological development. Meetings are scheduled with top executives from major global companies such as Meta, Oracle, NVIDIA, and SpaceX.
The discussions will center on digital transformation of public administration and the development of artificial intelligence infrastructure, reflecting Kyrgyzstan’s ambition to modernize its economy through technology.
The visit is expected to conclude with the signing of several cooperation agreements aimed at enhancing partnerships between Kyrgyzstan and international institutions, marking a step forward in global engagement.
