15 Killed in Massive Fire at Lucknow Coaching Centre

Post by : Shakul

A tragic fire broke out at a coaching centre located in the Aliganj area of Lucknow on Monday, resulting in the deaths of at least 15 students and injuries to several others. The blaze spread rapidly through the building, trapping many students inside and triggering panic among those attending classes.

The building housed multiple commercial establishments, including a gaming zone, pet-related businesses and the coaching centre situated on the upper floor. Witnesses reported scenes of chaos as students attempted to escape the thick smoke and flames.

Students Forced to Jump for Safety

As the fire intensified, several students were forced to jump from the first floor to save their lives. Eyewitnesses said that multiple students suffered injuries while trying to escape the burning structure.

Videos from the scene showed dramatic rescue efforts as local residents and emergency responders worked together to help trapped individuals reach safety. Several injured students were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Rescue Teams Launch Emergency Operation

Firefighters, police personnel and disaster response teams quickly arrived at the site after receiving reports of the incident. Multiple fire engines were deployed and rescue operations continued for more than an hour before the blaze was brought under control.

Authorities confirmed that a total of 24 people were taken to hospitals, while rescue teams completed a thorough search operation to ensure that no one remained trapped inside the building.

Government Orders High-Level Investigation

Following the tragedy, the Uttar Pradesh government ordered a high-level investigation into the cause of the fire. Four officials, including personnel from the development authority, electricity department and fire services, were suspended pending the inquiry.

A Special Investigation Team has been constituted to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Police have also registered a case against several individuals and made arrests as part of the investigation.

The Prime Minister approved an ex-gratia payment of ₹2 lakh for the families of each deceased victim and ₹50,000 for those injured in the tragedy.

Chief Minister Reviews Situation

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath cancelled his scheduled engagements and rushed to Lucknow after receiving reports of the incident. He visited the site and directed officials to provide all possible support to victims and their families.

Senior leaders, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other public representatives, also visited the affected area and reviewed rescue and relief efforts.

Focus on Safety Compliance

The tragic incident has once again raised concerns about safety standards and emergency preparedness in educational institutions and commercial buildings. Authorities are expected to examine whether safety regulations, fire clearances and emergency exits were adequately maintained.

As investigations continue, families across the city are mourning the loss of young lives in one of Lucknow’s deadliest fire tragedies in recent years.
