KUALA LUMPUR — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds across several parts of Peninsular Malaysia, Sarawak, Sabah and the Federal Territory of Labuan until 9pm on Wednesday.
In Kedah, the warning covers Kuala Muda, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu. In Penang, affected areas include the North-east district and Seberang Perai Utara, Tengah and Selatan. Several districts in Perak, including Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar and Batang Padang, are also under the warning.

All areas in Kelantan are expected to experience similar conditions. The warning also covers Besut, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Dungun and Kemaman in Terengganu, along with Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Jerantut, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin in Pahang.
In Johor, MetMalaysia has listed Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Kluang, Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru among the districts expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds.
The warning in Sarawak covers Sibu and parts of Mukah, Kapit, Bintulu and Miri divisions. Areas including Matu, Dalat, Mukah, Song, Tatau, Beluru, Miri and Marudi could experience severe weather conditions during the warning period.
In Sabah, affected locations include Sipitang, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Tambunan, Papar, Penampang and Ranau. The Federal Territory of Labuan is also included in the weather warning issued by MetMalaysia.
People in the affected areas should remain alert to rapidly changing weather conditions and monitor official updates. Heavy rain and strong winds may cause reduced visibility, difficult travel conditions and localised disruptions in some areas.
