A healthy diet is key to achieving vibrant skin and resilient hair. While many invest in creams and serums, true beauty originates from what we consume. Nutritionist Shalini Sudhakar has unveiled an easy homemade recipe that promotes hair and skin vitality — and it only requires 10 minutes to make.
In a video on Instagram, Shalini showcased her unique creation, the “Protein and Collagen Laddu,” comprising just three readily available ingredients — aliv seeds, whole black urad dal, and black sesame seeds. These nutrient-dense components are known for their ability to minimize hair loss and enhance skin quality, resulting in a natural glow.
A Natural Boost for Skin and Hair
Shalini emphasized that dietary choices significantly impact skin and hair health, even more than topical products. “Your skin and hair care is more about what you eat than what you apply,” she emphasized.
She explained that this straightforward laddu contributes to collagen production — a vital protein that ensures skin remains supple, firm, and youthful while also enriching hair with strength and shine. “For anyone desiring naturally radiant skin and lustrous hair, this recipe is perfect for you,” Shalini advised.
The Three Power Ingredients
1. Aliv Seeds (Garden Cress Seeds):
Shalini pointed out that aliv seeds are abundant in iron, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamin C, all of which contribute to reducing hair fall, fortifying hair roots, and promoting swift growth. They also improve circulation to the scalp, resulting in thicker, shinier locks.
2. Whole Black Urad Dal:
As an excellent source of plant protein, black urad dal aids the body in generating collagen, essential for skin and hair well-being. “Collagen nourishes your skin from within, rather than just surface level,” Shalini explained, noting that consistent consumption can lead to younger, smoother skin.
3. Black Sesame Seeds:
Renowned for their rich calcium and folate content, black sesame seeds assist in reducing skin discoloration and fine lines. According to Shalini, they also stimulate collagen production, contributing to an even-toned and soft complexion. Their nutrients shield skin from aging and dryness, ensuring a healthy glow.
An Easy 10-Minute Recipe
Shalini described her laddu as simple to prepare and perfect for those in search of a quick, wholesome snack. The entire process takes less than 10 minutes.
To create it, lightly roast all three ingredients, grind them into a fine powder, and combine with either jaggery or honey to form small balls. These treats can be stored for several days and savored daily as a nutritious snack.
“This isn’t just delicious; it’s also incredibly beneficial for your skin and hair,” Shalini noted, recommending indulging in one laddu each day to observe visible improvements over time.
Beauty from Within
The nutritionist reminded her audience that skincare products primarily work from the outside, whereas nutrition has an internal impact. “When proteins, vitamins, and minerals collaborate, they provide your skin and hair with a natural radiance,” she stated.
In closing, Shalini highlighted the significance of consistent healthy eating, adequate hydration, and quality sleep for overall beauty and wellbeing.
Shalini’s straightforward three-ingredient laddu illustrates that caring for your skin and hair doesn’t require extravagant measures or complicated methods. Sometimes, the most effective beauty remedies lie in your kitchen — you simply need a few minutes and the right blend of nutrients for a natural glow.
