Today, the Omani-Kazakh Joint Committee convened to discuss strategies for strengthening cooperation between Oman and Kazakhstan. The talks centered around enhancing trade, economic ties, and investment opportunities, with a shared vision to foster robust partnerships across various sectors.
The session was co-chaired by Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harthy, the Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs in Oman, alongside Alibek Kuantyrov, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan. Both leaders affirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations and identifying actionable steps for mutual economic growth and development.
During the meeting, discussions covered critical sectors including agriculture, fisheries, water resources, and logistics. The officials also explored the feasibility of establishing direct flight routes, which would facilitate travel and enhance business and tourism exchanges. Reinforcing transportation and logistics frameworks was identified as a vital pathway to augment trade and investment.
Beyond economic collaboration, the representatives acknowledged the necessity of sharing insights and knowledge in sectors like information technology and artificial intelligence (AI). The two nations plan to share innovations and collaborate on integrating modern technology to boost productivity and service quality across various fields.
The meeting also spotlighted collaborative opportunities in diplomacy and academia. Mutual interests were expressed in advancing joint research initiatives, educational schemes, and academic partnerships to foster greater mutual understanding and knowledge sharing. This initiative aims to nurture lasting relationships not just at the governmental level, but also among the citizens of Oman and Kazakhstan.
Attending the meeting were several high-profile officials, including Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel Al Maskari, who heads the Department for the Gulf Cooperation Council and Regional Neighborhood at the Omani Foreign Ministry, and Aidarbek Tumatov, Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Oman. The participation of these senior representatives underscores the importance of this dialogue in advancing bilateral ties.
The Omani-Kazakh Joint Committee's discussions reflect a mutual commitment to enhancing cooperation in advantageous areas for both nations. By prioritizing trade, investment, technology, and education, Oman and Kazakhstan are striving to build sustainable partnerships that promote economic growth and foster people-to-people connections.
With the initiatives agreed upon, both countries are poised to enhance cooperation in ways that yield tangible benefits for businesses, communities, and students alike. Today's meeting serves as a pivotal milestone in strengthening the foundation for future collaboration and deeper relations between Oman and Kazakhstan.
