Acclaimed actor Paresh Rawal recently disclosed that he was approached for a role in the upcoming Drishyam 3, featuring Ajay Devgn, but chose to refuse the opportunity. Although he found the script impressive, Rawal stated that the character offered did not captivate him.

“Indeed, the creators did reach out to me. However, I felt the role wasn’t the right fit. I wasn’t thrilled when I read about my character. The script, however, is exceptional. I was genuinely impressed. In a gripping narrative, one must feel excited about the role. Warna maza nahin aayega (or else it wouldn’t be enjoyable),” he expressed.

About the Drishyam Series
Drishyam 3 will feature Ajay Devgn reprising his character alongside Shriya Saran. Directed by Abhishek Pathak and produced by Kumar Mangat, this film is the latest sequel to Drishyam (2015) and Drishyam 2 (2022). The original crime thriller from 2015 was adapted from the 2013 Malayalam film with Mohanlal in the lead.

The teaser for Drishyam 3 was initially slated for release this month but encountered delays. Reports indicate that a contractual adaptation clause between the Malayalam franchise and the Hindi remake necessitates approval from the original team for any announcements. Following Mohanlal's shoot announcement, the Hindi crew set a release date of October 2, 2026, which allegedly caused displeasure among the original Malayalam producers, Jeethu Joseph and Antony Perumbavoor, leading to the activation of the clause.

Paresh was last seen in the horror-comedy Thamma, featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik.

The actor has a busy slate ahead with films like Hera Pheri 3, The Taj Story, Bhooth Bangla, and Welcome To The Jungle.
