HE Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, emphasized the pivotal role that educational institutions play in nurturing national talent and skillsets. He articulated how these institutions lay the groundwork for young individuals to enhance their abilities, gain knowledge, and prepare for upcoming challenges.
The Minister acknowledged that diligence, hard work, and persistence are crucial for youth to reach their aspirations. According to him, these attributes not only aid in academic pursuits but also contribute to the broader advancement of the nation. By dedicating themselves to their studies and initiatives, students can actively partake in Qatar's ongoing development.
Dr. Al Subaie made these remarks during a lecture hosted at Qatar Foundation's Academic Bridge Program (ABP). The event attracted ABP students, senior management individuals, and Abeer Al Khalifa, President of Pre-University Education at Qatar Foundation. He seized the moment to inspire students to stay devoted to their learning and fully leverage the opportunities presented by ABP.
During his visit, the Minister reviewed various student-led projects, including innovative initiatives centered on environmental sustainability and artificial intelligence applications. These projects showcased students' creativity and problem-solving capabilities, indicative of the comprehensive training and education the ABP provides.
Dr. Al Subaie also gained insights into the educational offerings of ABP, which prepare pre-university students for higher education, equipping them with the essential skills to thrive in premier universities, both locally and globally. He applauded ABP for its role in fostering academic growth, helping students transition successfully into their future careers.
Established in 2001 by HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation and Education Above All, the Academic Bridge Program is recognized as one of Qatar's foremost academic institutions, aimed at qualifying students for admission to universities within Education City as well as other elite local and international schools. ABP serves as a crucial link between pre-university education and higher education pathways.
The visit of HE Dr. Al Subaie highlighted education's critical role in cultivating youth talent and enhancing national capacity. By engaging with students and reviewing their work, the Minister reiterated the significance of academic programs that blend practical skills, innovation, and creativity. He motivated students to stay committed, labor diligently, and continuously pursue excellence.
This visit further underscored Qatar's dedication to prioritizing education as a national imperative. Initiatives like ABP not only propel individual student success but also bolster the nation's overall growth. By fostering young talent, Qatar is ensuring the availability of a skilled and proficient workforce prepared to address the challenges of an ever-changing global landscape.
