Education as a Catalyst for Youth Development in Qatar, Says Minister

Education as a Catalyst for Youth Development in Qatar, Says Minister

Post by : Maya Rahman

During a recent lecture at Qatar Foundation’s Academic Bridge Program (ABP), HE Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, emphasized the vital influence of educational and academic institutions in nurturing national talent. He articulated how these establishments lay the groundwork for young individuals to enhance their skills, acquire knowledge, and equip themselves for impending challenges.

The Minister pointed out that qualities such as diligence, hard work, and perseverance are crucial for youth to reach their aspirations. These attributes not only foster academic success but also enable students to play a significant role in advancing the nation. By dedicating themselves to their studies and projects, they can actively contribute to Qatar’s development journey.

Dr. Al Subaie made these remarks while addressing ABP students, senior management, and Abeer Al Khalifa, the President of Pre-University Education at Qatar Foundation. He encouraged the attendees to remain fervent in their pursuit of education and capitalize on the opportunities available through ABP.

During his visit, the Minister reviewed various student projects spotlighting initiatives related to environmental sustainability and innovative applications of artificial intelligence. The creativity and problem-solving abilities showcased in these projects reflected the high educational standards upheld by ABP.

Dr. Al Subaie also gained insights into the educational and training programs provided by ABP, which prepare pre-university students for higher education, equipping them with the essential skills for success in leading universities both within Qatar and worldwide. He commended ABP for its dedication to fostering students’ academic advancement and readiness for future professional paths.

Established in 2001 by HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, the Academic Bridge Program serves as a premier academic institution in Qatar, aimed at qualifying students for admission to universities within Education City and other top-tier global institutions. ABP is crucial in connecting secondary education with higher education prospects.

Dr. Al Subaie’s visit highlighted the pivotal role of education in cultivating youth talent and enhancing national capacity. By engaging with students and examining their innovations, he underlined the significance of academic programs that blend practical skills with creativity. He urged students to continue their commitment, work diligently, and pursue excellence.

Furthermore, this visit underscored Qatar’s dedication to prioritizing education as a national imperative. Initiatives like ABP not only empower individual students but also contribute to the nation's overall advancement. Through the cultivation of young talent, Qatar is ensuring a proficient workforce poised to handle the demands of a rapidly changing global landscape.
