Actor Rajat Bedi, known for his recent role in *The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, has candidly shared insights into his experiences in the film industry and the unwavering support of his sister, Ila Bedi Dutta. Ila, who co-wrote Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film *Love & War*, suggested Rajat for a role in the film, which features stars like Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal, although the casting did not succeed.
Rajat revealed that whenever his sister is involved in a film, she actively recommends him for roles. He commented, “My sister is incredibly talented. She connects my name with filmmakers. I have an older brother, Manik Bedi, who is also in the industry. Being the youngest, she’s always advocating for us. She even approached Sanjay sir, urging him to consider me for any suitable role.”
Despite familial backing, Rajat disclosed the hurdles he has faced in securing Bollywood work, including making “cold calls” to directors who acknowledged his previous performances but failed to provide opportunities.
He expressed, “For the past 10-15 years, I’ve been attempting to make a comeback, but success has eluded me. I hope for big projects that will allow me to showcase my talent. My family and I are deeply grateful for the appreciation of my work.”
Rajat’s experiences illustrate the unpredictable nature of the film industry, where talent and determination don’t always lead to immediate success, highlighting the critical importance of family support in overcoming the challenges of Bollywood.
