Samsung is elevating the television experience by introducing its Vision AI Companion, making its debut in the 2025 TV series. This innovative assistant enables viewers to engage in conversation directly with their TVs, receiving immediate insights about the content they are watching.
First revealed at IFA 2025 in Berlin, the Vision AI Companion features a conversational interface enhanced by an advanced version of Samsung’s Bixby voice technology. Users can pose contextually relevant questions such as “Who is the actor in this scene?” or “What is the story behind this artwork?” Answers will then be visually displayed on the TV screen, eliminating the need for secondary devices.
This system merges various large language models, including Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity, to deliver precise, visually engaging answers. Initially, it supports ten languages, including English, Korean, and Spanish, and is compatible with live broadcasts, Samsung TV Plus, and prominent streaming services.
The capabilities of the AI extend beyond screen explanations; it can propose similar movies or shows, offer recipe suggestions, and even provide local dining recommendations or travel advice, all while keeping the conversation fluid and cohesive. The design aims for a seamless experience, ensuring that the viewer remains focused on the content.
Vision AI Companion is part of a broader suite of AI functionalities included in Samsung’s 2025 models. Live Translate allows instant dialogue translation, AI Gaming Mode enhances visual and audio quality during games, and Generative Wallpaper modifies background themes to suit user tastes. Additionally, AI Picture, AVA Pro, and AI Upscaling Pro ensure clarity and resolution across various content formats.
This exciting feature will be accessible across Samsung’s Neo QLED, Micro RGB, OLED, and QLED models, as well as Smart Monitors and The Movingstyle series—all supported by the One UI Tizen platform. Samsung also commits to providing security and feature updates for up to seven years, a remarkable promise for smart TVs.
By merging voice interaction, visuals, and generative AI, Samsung aims to position its TVs as the core intelligent screens within homes. No longer just responsive devices, these TVs are set to engage in meaningful conversations.
