Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister of the UAE, engaged in a phone discussion with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to explore enhancing the strategic partnership between their nations. The conversation centered on deepening collaboration across various sectors to meet shared interests. Both leaders acknowledged the importance of nurturing a robust partnership that benefits the citizens of both countries.
During their dialogue, Sheikh Abdullah and Secretary Rubio examined opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation in economic, commercial, and scientific fields. They also touched upon the rising significance of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies in supporting national development goals. They concurred on the necessity of ongoing collaboration for achieving sustainable growth in both the UAE and the US.
Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the depth of the UAE-US strategic relationship, stressing the commitment both countries share towards fostering constructive cooperation in diverse areas. The partnership is seen as pivotal for driving economic development, supporting key initiatives, and enhancing mutual prosperity.
Regional challenges were also a focal point of the discussion. Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the dire situation in Sudan, noting the need to act upon the Quad statement released last September by the UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the United States, which aims to bring an end to the Sudan conflict.
The humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip was another important topic, as both leaders expressed their concern regarding the regional conflicts' humanitarian repercussions. Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the necessity for coordinated efforts to provide assistance and stabilize affected areas.
Sheikh Abdullah expressed gratitude for the US’s commitment to promoting peace and security in the Middle East, acknowledging its initiatives aimed at fostering long-lasting prosperity in the region. Both parties recognized that teamwork is crucial for achieving enduring development and security in this area.
The dialogue reinforced the need for ongoing communications and collaboration between the UAE and the United States. Both leaders resolved to ensure close coordination for advancing shared goals, bolstering bilateral relations, and tackling regional and international challenges. The UAE remains dedicated to partnering with global allies to attain stability, development, and peace.
