Thamma Surpasses ₹55 Crore, Solidifying Ayushmann’s Hit with Maddock

Thamma Surpasses ₹55 Crore, Solidifying Ayushmann’s Hit with Maddock

Post by : Meena Ariff

Maddock Films' exciting entry into the horror-comedy genre, Thamma, has made a significant impact at the box office. Within only three days since its launch, the film has surpassed the ₹50 crore mark, showcasing the audience's unwavering preference for this captivating style of storytelling.

Thamma debuted with a robust ₹24 crore on its opening day, ranking as the second-highest launch within the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU), trailing only Stree 2.

Although there was a minor decline following the festive season, Thamma retained its strong performance. On Thursday alone, the film earned ₹12.50 crore, bringing its total earnings to ₹55.10 crore.

This remarkable result not only establishes a personal best for Ayushmann Khurrana, outpacing the opening day of his prior 2023 success, Dream Girl 2 (₹10.69 crore), but also marks his most successful box office entry to date, reaffirming his position in the comedy-horror genre.

Positive Audience and Trade Feedback

Industry insiders commend the film’s steady performance, underscoring its continued family appeal post-festivities.

Evening and night screenings have reported strong turnout, ensuring consistent audience engagement across key markets.

The film's reception from family viewers has significantly enhanced both its reputation and that of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe—renowned for its unique fusion of humor and eerie narratives.

Continuing the Maddock Legacy

With the release of Thamma, Maddock Films further develops its nuanced horror-comedy landscape. The studio's skillful blending of spooky elements with humor has become its signature, establishing new milestones for genre films in India.

Due to its box office triumph and favorable crowd reactions, Thamma is poised to continue its successful run into its first week. This impressive outcome also ignites anticipation for forthcoming MHCU releases, potentially featuring crossovers with Stree 2 and other beloved characters from the series.
