WhatsApp Enables Multi-Account Functionality for iPhone Users

WhatsApp Enables Multi-Account Functionality for iPhone Users

Post by : Badri Ariffin

WhatsApp has officially begun the rollout of a highly anticipated feature for iPhone users—the ability to utilize multiple accounts on a single device. This update aligns the iOS experience with that of Android, where multi-account functionality was launched in 2023.

Currently available in beta for iOS version 25.34.10.72 and newer, the feature allows the addition of a second WhatsApp account directly within the app. Each account offers its own chat history, notifications, privacy settings, and profile details, facilitating a clear division between personal and work conversations.

Once this feature is activated, users will see a new Account List option in the Settings menu, allowing effortless switching between accounts without the need to log out. For added security, device-level authentication methods like Face ID or Touch ID will be triggered when changing accounts, ensuring protection for sensitive conversations.

This update spares many iPhone users from the hassle of carrying an additional phone or using the WhatsApp Business app as a temporary solution. Notifications will clearly indicate which account has received a message, minimizing confusion during the management of multiple numbers.

The rollout is taking place gradually and is currently being tested by selected users in various regions. Although WhatsApp has not disclosed a specific public release date, broader accessibility is anticipated as the beta phase advances. With this enhancement, the platform continues to expand options that allow users greater flexibility in managing their digital communications across identities and devices.
