Singapore, August 31, 2026: Pokémon fans and competitive gaming enthusiasts have a major event to look forward to as the Pokemon World Championships 2027 are set to take place in Singapore next year. The prestigious global tournament will bring together top Pokémon players from different parts of the world for a battle to become the World Champion.
The Pokemon World Championships 2027 will be held from August 13 to 15, 2027, at Singapore Expo. The final day of the tournament, known as Championship Sunday, will be hosted at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. This will mark the first time that Singapore has been selected to host the annual Pokémon World Championships, giving local fans an opportunity to experience one of the biggest events in competitive Pokémon gaming.
The Pokemon competitive gaming event features several popular competitive formats. These include the Pokemon Trading Card Game, Pokémon Video Game Championships, commonly known as VGC, and Pokemon Go. Players participating in these competitions will compete at the highest level, with the ultimate goal of securing the title of World Champion.
The Pokemon World Championships is considered the top stage for competitive Pokémon play. It attracts elite players who qualify through organized competitions and compete for championship titles, prizes and other rewards. The Singapore edition is expected to attract Pokémon fans from around the world and could further strengthen the city-state's position as a major destination for international gaming events.
The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the Pokemon World Championships 2026 in San Francisco on August 30, local time. The news confirmed Singapore as the host city for the 2027 edition.
The Pokemon esports event is expected to feature intense matches, global competitors and a large gathering of Pokémon enthusiasts. Organizers are expected to reveal more information about tickets, schedules, qualification details and other event activities at a later stage.
