Tamil cinema legend Rajinikanth has once again proved why he remains one of the most admired and grounded superstars in India. A video of the actor traveling in an economy seat on a commercial flight to Goa for the shoot of Jailer 2 has gone viral across social media.
In the clip, shared by several fan pages, Rajinikanth can be seen sitting toward the front of the flight. As soon as fellow passengers spot him, excitement fills the cabin—many take out their phones to capture the rare moment. The actor smiles warmly, stands up, and waves at his fans, who respond with cheers and applause. Even the flight crew can be seen smiling as the atmosphere turns festive.
One fan on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, “Superstar #Rajinikanth turns a flight into a mini theatre with his charm! On his way to Goa for the #Jailer2 next schedule.” Another post read, “Rajinikanth in an economy seat — yet the aura around him feels first class.”
This heartwarming gesture not only delighted those on board but also reminded fans of Rajinikanth’s humility despite his decades-long superstardom.
Rajinikanth is currently shooting for Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer 2, the much-anticipated sequel to his 2023 blockbuster Jailer, where he played the iconic character ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian. The original film was a major box office success and earned praise for its blend of action and comedy.
In Jailer 2, Ramya Krishnan reprises her role, while Shiva Rajkumar is set for a cameo appearance. Reports also suggest that Balakrishna will play a key role in the sequel.
The superstar’s 2024 lineup included two major hits — Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s Lal Salaam and TJ Gnanavel’s Vettaiyan. His collaboration with Lokesh Kanagaraj in Coolie was another massive success, collecting over ₹518 crore worldwide.
Adding to the excitement, Rajinikanth is also expected to share screen space with Kamal Haasan in an upcoming project that the two legends will co-produce. Although the film’s title and director have not yet been officially announced, both actors have confirmed that the collaboration is happening.
Fans online have flooded social media with admiration for Rajinikanth’s simplicity. Comments such as “Only Rajini can make economy class feel royal” and “A true superstar doesn’t need luxury to shine” reflect the public’s affection for the actor’s down-to-earth persona.
Even after more than four decades in the film industry, Rajinikanth continues to command love and respect — not just for his acting prowess but for his genuine humility.
