A devastating explosion at an illegal firecracker factory in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan has claimed the lives of at least eight workers, most of whom were migrant labourers. The blast occurred in an industrial area where the unit was reportedly operating without proper permissions and safety clearances.
According to initial information, the factory was running under the cover of another manufacturing facility. Large quantities of explosive material were allegedly stored illegally inside the premises. The powerful explosion triggered a massive fire, causing parts of the building to collapse and trapping several workers inside.
Fire brigade teams and local administration officials rushed to the site immediately after the incident. Rescue operations continued for several hours amid thick smoke, flames, and debris. Injured workers were rushed to nearby hospitals, while bodies were recovered from the damaged structure.
Authorities have launched a detailed investigation to identify violations related to industrial safety norms, illegal storage of explosives, and negligence by the factory owners. Officials have assured strict action against those found responsible for the tragedy.
The incident has once again highlighted serious concerns over illegal industrial operations and weak enforcement of safety regulations in industrial zones. It has also raised questions about worker safety, especially for migrant labourers employed in hazardous conditions without adequate protection.
