Indian security forces have reported the second sighting of a suspected Pakistani drone near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir within 48 hours. This recurring presence of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has raised alarm, prompting enhanced surveillance and deployment of advanced counter-drone measures.
The LoC, separating Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir from Pakistan-administered territories, remains a sensitive border with frequent conflicts. Drone incursions pose threats including reconnaissance, intelligence gathering, and possible delivery of contraband or explosives.
The latest drone was detected via radar, thermal imaging, and ground observers. Indian forces raised alert levels and deployed electronic warfare units to jam and neutralize the drones using signal interception, GPS spoofing, and radar disruption.
Security patrols and border installations have been reinforced, while intelligence agencies analyze the drone’s flight pattern and origin to assess intent. These sightings highlight the evolving use of unmanned technology for surveillance and destabilization along the LoC.
The Indian government and military reaffirm their commitment to protecting sovereignty and responding decisively to violations. The ongoing use of counter-drone systems is part of broader efforts to modernize border defense against emerging drone threats.
