Hollywood star Bella Thorne has voiced her support for Priyanka Chopra amid recent social media criticism regarding a nostalgic video from an airport, where fans purportedly believed Priyanka's actions were staged for publicity.
The controversy reignited online when an archival video depicted Priyanka Chopra arriving at an airport, where she engaged with fans for autographs twice—first at the entrance and subsequently in front of cameras. Observers on social media questioned the spontaneity of the moment, insinuating that it was a carefully crafted PR strategy designed to draw attention. The video ignited a fiery discussion, with many denouncing it as a “contrived PR maneuver” and critiquing the perceived theatrics involved.
Bella Thorne took to a trending post to defend Priyanka’s response. She remarked, “I don’t see this as a PR setup. Fans trail you throughout the terminal, and they often sell those autographs online.”
Expanding on her thoughts, she explained, “That’s why she’s signing on blank paper. They might use your signature digitally to modify anything they wish. Regardless, I seriously doubt it was staged. She’s simply being gracious, signing for them repeatedly as they don’t leave her side in the terminal.”
As for Priyanka Chopra, she is gearing up for her comeback in Indian cinema with SS Rajamouli’s Telugu film Varanasi. She stars alongside Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran and the film is set for a Sankranthi 2027 release. Priyanka will portray Mandakini, while Mahesh Babu will play Rudhra and Prithviraj will take on the role of Kumbha.
On the international front, Priyanka is set to feature in The Bluff, playing a pirate from the 19th century Caribbean, and is also gearing up for the second season of the web series Citadel. Recently, she appeared in Heads of State with Idris Elba and John Cena, available on Prime Video.
