Police Hunt Three Men Who Fled After Fatal Bentong Crash

Post by : Rohit Dhiman

Police in Pahang are searching for three men who allegedly fled the scene after a deadly road accident in Bentong, with investigators now looking into a possible connection between the suspects and a vehicle theft case. The incident took place on Jalan Mempaga-Sertik in Bentong on Monday and involved three vehicles. A motorcyclist was killed in the collision, prompting police to launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the Bentong crash. Acting Pahang police chief Azry Akmar Ayob said the three men believed to have fled the accident scene had already been identified. The suspects are reportedly in their 20s and 30s. Police are also investigating whether the men were connected to a separate vehicle theft case. Their suspected involvement in the case has added another dimension to the investigation as officers continue efforts to locate them.

Vehicle Rented To Suspects Seized For Investigation

According to police, the vehicle involved in the incident had been rented to the three suspects. The man who rented the vehicle to them has since been detained by authorities. Azry said the detained man, who is in his 30s, tested positive for drugs. He has been remanded while police prepare further action and investigate whether there was any connection between him and the three men being sought. The arrest is expected to assist investigators in establishing how the suspects obtained the vehicle and where they were travelling before the accident occurred. Police are also examining information surrounding the vehicle and the movements of the three men before and after the fatal crash.

Three Suspects Allegedly Fled Into Oil Palm Plantation

Bentong police chief Zaiham Kahar had earlier provided details about what happened immediately after the collision.According to the police, the driver and two passengers travelling in a Perodua Myvi are believed to have abandoned the vehicle following the accident. The three men then reportedly ran into a nearby oil palm plantation. Their disappearance prompted police to begin efforts to track them down and establish their identities. Investigators have since identified the three men and are continuing the search for them. The circumstances surrounding their decision to leave the accident scene are also part of the ongoing investigation.

Motorcyclist Killed In Three-Vehicle Collision

The accident involved a Perodua Myvi, a Honda HR-V and a motorcycle. The collision resulted in the death of the motorcyclist. The crash occurred along Jalan Mempaga-Sertik, a road in the Bentong district of Pahang. Following the incident, emergency personnel and police were called to the location. The death has led to a wider investigation into the sequence of events that resulted in the collision. Officers are examining the vehicles involved and gathering information that could help determine what happened before the impact. The case is being investigated by local authorities as police continue their efforts to locate the three men.

Drug Test Adds Another Element To Investigation

The detention of the man who rented the vehicle has also become an important part of the Malaysia road accident investigation. Police said the man tested positive for drugs and has been remanded pending further proceedings. Authorities are expected to examine his relationship with the three suspects as well as the circumstances under which the vehicle was rented. Investigators will also determine whether the suspected vehicle theft connection has any direct link to the crash or the people who fled the scene. At this stage, police are continuing to gather evidence and have not disclosed further details about the exact nature of the alleged theft case.

Police Continue Search For Three Suspects

The three men remain the focus of the investigation as police work to locate them following the fatal accident. Authorities are examining information about their movements and their connection to the rented vehicle. Investigators are also expected to establish whether the men were directly involved in the suspected vehicle theft case. The incident has brought together several lines of inquiry, including the fatal road collision, the alleged abandonment of the vehicle, the suspected theft case and the drug test involving the person who rented the vehicle. Police have urged the investigation to continue while efforts are made to bring the three wanted men in for questioning. The Pahang police investigation is expected to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash and clarify the events that took place before and after the collision.
