Intel is going through big changes at the top. One of its senior leaders, Safroadu Yeboah-Amankwah, who has been leading the company’s strategy since 2020, is stepping down. His last day will be June 30.
Over the years, Saf played a key role in shaping Intel’s long-term plans. He worked on partnerships, growth ideas, and investments to push the company forward. Now, some of his responsibilities will shift to Sachin Katti, who was recently named Intel’s Chief Technology and AI Officer.
This leadership change comes as Lip-Bu Tan, Intel’s new CEO, begins to make his mark. Since taking over in March, Tan has been moving quickly to reorganize the company. He’s known for being hands-on and direct. So far, he’s trimmed down layers of middle management and taken closer control of Intel’s key business areas, especially in AI and data center chips.
Tan brings a strong background in tech investments. He founded a venture capital firm decades ago and is already making big decisions as Intel tries to recover from a tough period. The company has fallen behind in several fast-moving tech areas like smartphones and AI.
Last year, Intel reported a massive $18.8 billion loss, its first annual loss in nearly four decades. That loss, along with years of manufacturing delays, has pushed the company to rethink how it operates.
With Tan in charge and fresh leadership coming in, Intel is hoping to move faster, compete better, and get back on track.
