The UAE Cybersecurity Council has taken a significant stride towards preparing the nation for post-quantum cybersecurity challenges. During the CyberQ 2025 event in Abu Dhabi on November 26-27, the Council revealed its expanded partnership with QuantumGate, a company under ATRC that specializes in quantum-safe technologies, transitioning from planning to large-scale execution. This collaboration aims to fortify the UAE’s defenses against potential quantum decryption threats that impact crucial sectors.
This synergy between the Cybersecurity Council and QuantumGate, which is a subsidiary of VentureOne, seeks to expedite the UAE’s move towards quantum-safe security. The focus will be on forecasting and alleviating risks introduced by evolving quantum decryption methodologies, securing national safety, financial systems, and other vital areas against the upcoming cybersecurity threats.
The forthcoming phase of this national initiative will implemend through three key programs: the National Information Assurance Programme, the National Cybersecurity Index Platform, and the National Post-Quantum Migration Programme.
Under the National Information Assurance Programme, the Cybersecurity Council along with QuantumGate will enhance baseline security standards while boosting resilience for entities in both the public and private sectors. The National Cybersecurity Index Platform will offer a comprehensive view of national readiness, allowing for improved assessment, monitoring, and visibility regarding cybersecurity preparedness.
The National Post-Quantum Migration Programme will focus on identifying vulnerable cryptographic elements, establishing migration priorities, and guiding organizations in safeguarding long-lasting data. By offering essential guidelines, sector-wide strategies, and migration frameworks, the UAE is transitioning from mere awareness to the execution of practical cybersecurity measures. These initiatives position the UAE at the forefront globally, being among the first to initiate a coordinated approach towards an extensive post-quantum security model.
Dr. Mohamed Al-Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government, stated, "Our aim is to anticipate, not simply respond. With QuantumGate’s cutting-edge technology backing our national endeavors, the UAE is forging robust defenses today that guarantee the safety of critical infrastructure against future threats."
This collaboration also incorporates further QuantumGate technologies into national programs, including the Crypto Discovery Tool (CDT), which ensures complete visibility of cryptographic assets within complex settings; QSphere, a quantum-resistant VPN and data safeguarding suite; and Salina and Secure VMI, designed to extend security to enterprise and government systems beyond post-quantum safeguards.
Dr. Najwa Aaraj, CEO of QuantumGate, remarked, "Our partnership with the Cybersecurity Council has progressed from research to full-scale implementation. Collectively, TII’s cryptography platforms alongside QuantumGate’s security solutions are now operational across national infrastructures, shielding the UAE from emerging quantum threats."
This enduring partnership enhances the UAE’s status as a regional and global frontrunner in post-quantum cybersecurity. By merging government strategies with national technological expertise, the UAE is laying a solid digital groundwork for the future.
Through synchronized efforts and extensive quantum-safe preparedness, the Cybersecurity Council and QuantumGate are refining the nation’s capability to safeguard sensitive data, bolster overall resilience, and ensure the UAE stays at the vanguard of cybersecurity innovation in the quantum era.
