7 Dead After Hospital Wall Collapses in Bengaluru Rain

Post by : Shakul

A tragic incident in Bengaluru has claimed the lives of seven people after a compound wall collapsed at Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital during severe weather conditions. The collapse occurred amid heavy rainfall, strong winds, and hailstorms that lashed the city.

According to initial reports, the victims had taken shelter near the wall to escape the intense rain when the structure suddenly gave way. The collapse trapped several individuals under debris, leading to a tragic loss of life.

Emergency teams rushed to the site immediately after the incident. Rescue operations were launched to pull out those trapped, while the injured were quickly shifted to nearby medical facilities for treatment.

Officials confirmed that multiple people sustained injuries in the collapse. Medical teams worked continuously to provide necessary care, while authorities coordinated relief efforts at the scene.

The incident has raised serious concerns regarding the safety and maintenance of public infrastructure, especially during extreme weather events. Questions are now being asked about whether the structure was strong enough to withstand such conditions.

Siddaramaiah expressed deep grief over the loss of lives and announced a compensation of ₹5 lakh for the families of each victim. He also assured that strict action would be taken after a detailed investigation.

Narendra Modi also conveyed his condolences and announced ex gratia support for both the deceased’s families and those injured in the incident.

Authorities have ordered a probe to determine the exact cause of the collapse and to identify any lapses in construction or maintenance. The findings are expected to guide future safety measures.

This tragic event highlights the urgent need for stronger infrastructure checks and disaster preparedness in urban areas, especially during periods of extreme weather conditions.
