Vietnam Honors Martyrs in Thai Nguyen Visit

Vietnam Honors Martyrs in Thai Nguyen Visit

Post by : Shakul

A solemn tribute ceremony was held in Thai Nguyen where Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang offered incense and flowers to honor the heroic martyrs. The visit marked the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, a significant moment in Vietnam’s history.

The ceremony took place at the National Historical Monument dedicated to the 60 young volunteer martyrs of Company 915, Team 91, Bac Thai. This site stands as a symbol of sacrifice and courage, remembering those who gave their lives during one of the most difficult periods of the nation.

During the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister and his delegation paid their respects by laying wreaths and offering incense. The ceremony reflected deep gratitude toward the young volunteers who sacrificed their lives while serving the country during wartime.

The historical background of the site dates back to December 24, 1972, when intense bombing led to the tragic loss of 60 young volunteers. These individuals were engaged in transporting supplies to support the southern battlefield when they lost their lives in the attack.

Their sacrifice is remembered as a powerful example of bravery and dedication. Many of them were very young, with dreams and aspirations that remained unfulfilled. Their contribution played an important role in supporting the broader national struggle for independence and unity.

Over the years, the site has been developed into a national monument to honor their memory. It was officially recognized and awarded the title of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces, highlighting its importance in Vietnam’s historical and cultural landscape.

The monument is now an important destination for visitors and students who wish to learn about the country’s history. It serves as a place of remembrance and education, helping younger generations understand the sacrifices made for national freedom.

Officials emphasized the importance of preserving such historical sites and continuing to educate future generations. They noted that remembering the past is essential for building a strong and united nation.

The visit concluded with a message of respect and commitment to uphold the values of patriotism and sacrifice. The ceremony highlighted the enduring legacy of those who gave their lives for the country.
