Relentless rainfall has caused severe flooding in Turkey’s Adana city, disrupting daily life and creating dangerous conditions across multiple areas. Within minutes, floodwaters rose to waist height, leaving residents struggling to stay safe.
Due to the heavy rains, streets quickly turned into fast-flowing rivers, sweeping away vehicles and flooding homes and businesses. Authorities reported that several roads have been severely damaged, making transportation and emergency access extremely difficult.
Rescue Operations Underway
Emergency response teams are actively carrying out rescue operations in affected areas. Many residents are being evacuated to safer locations as officials continue to monitor the worsening situation. Authorities have warned that conditions remain extremely dangerous.
Weather Warnings Issued Earlier
Turkey’s meteorological agency had already issued alerts regarding heavy rainfall and flash flood risks. However, the sudden surge and intensity of the rainfall left many residents unable to evacuate in time.
Officials are urging people to stay away from floodwaters and follow safety instructions. Authorities stated that the city is still facing a critical situation, and the risk may continue until weather conditions improve.
