Dramatic scenes unfolded in Doha, Qatar, as missile debris from Iran’s ongoing retaliatory strikes fell over the city, sparking panic and explosions that sent residents fleeing for cover. The incidents occurred amid a broader wave of Iranian missile and drone attacks across the Gulf region in response to US and Israeli military operations against Iran, prompting air defence systems to activate and intercept threats over several countries.
According to Qatari authorities, the country’s armed forces successfully intercepted a large barrage of Iranian ballistic missiles and drones targeting its territory, shooting down dozens of projectiles. While most were neutralised mid‑air, falling debris struck parts of Doha’s residential and industrial areas, causing limited fires and widespread fear. Civil defence teams contained a minor blaze caused by falling shrapnel in the city’s Industrial Area, with no major injuries reported.
The attacks are part of Iran’s broader retaliation for recent strikes on its territory by the United States and Israel, which have escalated into one of the most intense conflict phases in the region. Explosions and interceptions were reported not only in Qatar but also in other Gulf states including the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Bahrain, with air‑raid sirens and defence operations continuing across multiple fronts.
Qatari officials have condemned the Iranian strikes as violations of national sovereignty and threats to regional stability, joining other Gulf and Arab states in issuing joint condemnation statements. Citizens were urged to follow safety instructions, avoid crater or debris sites, and rely only on verified information as tensions remain high and defensive measures continue.
