Post by : Rameen Ariff

Preparations are in full swing for the 10th edition of the Al Salam Cycling Championship, recognized as the world’s largest community cycling race in terms of diversity and prize value.

The event is organised by the Private Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai and will run under the theme “Ten Years of Achievements and Success”. Over the past decade, the championship has grown into a major community and sports event, promoting health, fitness, and well-being, while highlighting the natural beauty of the Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve, the venue for this year’s races.

The Supreme Organising Committee has approved four main races for the 10th edition:

  • UAE Nationals Amateur Race on December 28
  • Elite Race on January 18
  • Women’s Race on January 25
  • Desert Race on February 1

Omair bin Juma Al Falasi, Director General of the Private Office of H.H. the Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Committee, said the championship is more than just a competition. It aims to inspire an active lifestyle, promote community spirit, and encourage participation from all age groups and nationalities.

He also emphasized the event’s dedication to inclusivity and women’s empowerment, with specific races for women and broad representation across diverse nationalities.

With new features and surprises yet to be announced, the 10th Al Salam Cycling Championship is expected to attract massive participation, significant media attention, and continue its legacy as a landmark event in community sports and cycling in Dubai.
