The Arab Federation for Digital Economy actively participated in significant international discussions in Geneva, featuring events such as the Global Forum for Digital Governance Solutions “GovTech Deep-Dive” and “Trust Valley Day 2025”. Led by Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khouri, the delegation addressed pressing global trends in the realms of digital transformation, GovTech solutions, service enhancement, transparency, and preparing for future technologies.
These sessions, organized by the World Bank and attended by officials and tech experts, underscored the importance of robust partnerships between public and private sectors. Such collaborations are vital in advancing initiatives around artificial intelligence, government data management, digital security, and institutional growth. The Federation's involvement in Trust Valley Day 2025 particularly focused on cybersecurity and digital confidence, showcasing innovative cyber solutions from the “Tech4Trust” program utilized across Europe.
Moreover, the Federation participated in the awards ceremony for the GovTech Innovation Challenge 2025, where the World Bank and the Swiss government honored groundbreaking digital governance initiatives. On the sidelines of this event, discussions were held with the World Bank regarding collaboration on projects such as the Arab Digital Economy Index and the Arab Digital Transformation Projects Platform. The Bank commended the UAE for its leadership in the region's digital advancement, owing to its robust technological infrastructure and strategic approach to innovation.
Dr. Al-Khouri noted that the collaboration with the World Bank would enhance the accuracy of the Arab Digital Transformation Index, facilitating better measurement of progress across Arab states. Both parties aimed to expand initiatives related to the digital projects platform, developed in collaboration with UNDP and ESCWA, designed to unify digital project classification, bolster the Arab digital economy, and improve access to global funding.
He emphasized that these international engagements offer Arab nations valuable insights into advanced global practices, enabling the construction of robust digital frameworks for the future. The Federation is poised to maintain its engagement with international organizations, bolstering Arab digital policy frameworks and fostering regional integration within the digital sector.
