Dhurandhar Starring Ranveer Singh Releases This Friday Amid Slow Advance Sales

Dhurandhar Starring Ranveer Singh Releases This Friday Amid Slow Advance Sales

Post by : Meena Ariff

Aditya Dhar's highly anticipated film, Dhurandhar, marking his first collaboration with Ranveer Singh, hits screens worldwide on Friday, December 5. This gripping spy thriller, set against the backdrop of Pakistan's notorious Lyari district, features a remarkable cast including Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Akshaye Khanna. The trailer has generated substantial excitement and positive reviews.

Advance ticket sales launched on Monday, swiftly breaking the ₹1 crore barrier. However, the sales momentum has slowed in recent days. Currently, the film has achieved ₹2.28 crore in advance bookings, with around 50,000 tickets sold nationwide by Wednesday evening. Analysts anticipate that ticket sales will accelerate as additional screenings are scheduled closer to the release date.

While initial forecasts hinted that Dhurandhar might achieve one of the year's top Hindi film openings, even exceeding hits like Chhaava and War 2, the latest trends suggest a more conservative debut. Industry analysts now estimate an opening day collection ranging between ₹18-20 crore net across India, with some more cautious predictions suggesting figures as low as ₹15 crore. Compared to this year’s biggest openings—Saiyaara (₹21.50 crore) and Chhaava (₹31 crore)—this forecast is a touch lower, yet the film is still expected to attract significant audience interest.

Dhurandhar will be showcased on approximately 5,000 screens in India, promising an exhilarating cinematic experience for audiences this weekend.
