The film Dhurandhar, featuring Ranveer Singh, is making waves at the Indian box office, hitting record highs with its box office numbers. Audiences are captivated by its engaging narrative and catchy tunes, particularly the viral dance move from Akshaye Khanna’s FA9LA. Another standout from the movie is the beloved dance track Shararat, which stars Ayesha Khan and Krystle D’Souza and has quickly become a crowd-pleaser.
Choreographer Vijay Ganguly disclosed that Tamannaah Bhatia was initially considered for the role in Shararat. However, director Aditya Dhar opted for a duo to ensure the song enhanced the storyline rather than divert from it. “With Tamannaah alone, viewers would focus more on her than the actual plot. Hence, having two performers was a creative choice,” he explained.
This lively number unfolds during a wedding sequence, fitting seamlessly within the film’s storyline without overshadowing the central plot. Vijay noted that the film is densely packed with action, making it essential for the song to be an organically integrated part of the narrative rather than a stand-alone “item number.”
Behind-the-scenes photos shared by Ayesha Khan highlight her enthusiasm for participating in Dhurandhar. She lauded Aditya Dhar's exceptional storytelling and world-building, asserting that it immerses viewers in the characters' journeys. Krystle D’Souza, too, expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the immense support from fans, sharing that her social media is flooded with dance remakes and clips.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar draws inspiration from real-life covert operations of RAW, particularly Operation Lyari. Alongside Ranveer Singh, it features Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun. Audiences can look forward to a sequel set for release on March 19, 2026.
On a global scale, Dhurandhar has garnered over ₹800 crore, with ₹555.5 crore accumulated from Indian screenings alone. The film has secured its place among the top ten highest-grossing Indian films, outpacing Animal, and continues to attract viewership, even with James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire & Ash playing in theaters.
