Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has acknowledged the remarkable trajectory of Dubai's aviation industry, emphasizing its vital role in linking international markets and bolstering the global economy. He remarked that this sector continues to flourish under the guidance of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

He commended the dedicated efforts of the teams at Dubai International Airport (DXB), noting their commitment and efficiency. The airport operates under the auspices of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who also plays a pivotal role in overseeing Dubai’s civil aviation and the Emirates Airline Group.

During a site visit to the airport, Sheikh Hamdan evaluated various passenger services, including operations handled by Emirates Airline. He also toured the Dubai Police operations center, gaining insights into the security measures and advanced technologies that ensure passenger safety and streamlined travel.

Officials outlined ongoing enhancements aimed at harnessing cutting-edge technology to boost effectiveness, accelerate processes, and uplift passenger comfort levels. Innovations include smart systems developed to manage crowd flow and facilitate seamless operations at the airport.

Sheikh Hamdan expressed his admiration for the personnel working at Dubai Airports, Emirates, and flydubai. He noted that the aviation ecosystem perseveres in upholding rigorous standards of safety and efficiency, even amid evolving global dynamics.

He further articulated that Dubai Airports is integral in propelling the city's economic progress and reinforcing its global status. Upcoming expansion initiatives will emphasize innovation, infrastructure development, and talent acquisition to further amplify Dubai’s international connectivity.

Additionally, Sheikh Hamdan assessed operations at Emirates Airline, praising its role in linking Dubai with international destinations. Currently, the airline services 123 locations across 65 nations, enhancing Dubai’s prominence within the global aviation landscape. He acknowledged the dedication of pilots and cabin crew in maintaining exemplary service standards.

He was also informed about the airline's Network Operations Control Centre, which employs advanced technologies like artificial intelligence, computer vision, and real-time mapping. These systems play a critical role in monitoring flights, weather patterns, and international developments, ensuring operations are executed timely and cargo is transported efficiently.

In 2025, Dubai International Airport celebrated a significant achievement by accommodating over 95 million passengers. It successfully retained its title as the world's busiest international airport for the 12th year in a row, with total flight movements reaching 454,800, representing a 3.3% rise from the previous year, signifying a consistent increment in capacity and global reach.
