The 2025 Global Soccer Awards brought together the biggest names in football for a night of celebration, recognition, and inspiration. Football legends, rising stars, influential decision-makers, and passionate fans gathered to honor the outstanding achievements of the year in a spectacular ceremony. Adding to the prestige of the event was the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who graced the occasion and added grandeur to the celebrations.
One of the standout moments of the evening was when Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) talented forward, Ousmane Dembélé, was awarded the Best Men’s Player title for the first time in his career. This milestone marked a new chapter for the French international, whose performances had captured the hearts of fans worldwide. On the women’s front, FC Barcelona’s midfielder Aitana Bonmatí Bonmatí continued to shine, making history by winning the Best Women’s Player award for a third consecutive year. Her consistent brilliance on the field has established her as one of the brightest stars in women’s football.
PSG enjoyed a night of dominance as they were crowned Best Men’s Club after an extraordinary year in which they secured multiple trophies, including the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, Ligue 1, and Coupe de France. The club’s success was further highlighted by several individual awards. Luis Enrique took home the Best Coach award for his strategic leadership, while Vitinha was named Best Midfielder for his remarkable playmaking abilities. Emerging talent Désiré Doué earned the Emerging Player award, and the club’s management team also received recognition—Luis Campos was honored as Best Sporting Director, and Nasser Al-Khelaïfi was named Best President.
The women’s side of the awards was a proud moment for FC Barcelona, which secured the Best Women’s Club trophy alongside Bonmatí’s individual accolade. A new star emerged as Barca’s 18-year-old sensation Lamine Yamal made waves by winning the Best Forward award as well as the prestigious Maradona Award. Her incredible skills and youthful energy signal a bright future for the club and the sport.
The ceremony also paid tribute to football legends. Andrés Iniesta, famed for scoring the winning goal for Spain in the 2010 FIFA World Cup final, was honored with a special career award recognizing his immense contributions to the sport. Japanese football icon Hidetoshi Nakata, a two-time AFC Player of the Year and Serie A champion with AS Roma, also received a career award celebrating his legacy.
In a deeply emotional moment, the awards paid tribute to the late Diogo Jota, the Liverpool and Portugal forward who tragically passed away in a car accident earlier this year along with his younger brother Andre Silva. A special award was presented to Jota’s parents as a heartfelt gesture of remembrance and respect.
The 2025 Global Soccer Awards celebrated the passion, talent, and dedication of football’s past, present, and future stars, reminding fans worldwide why the beautiful game continues to inspire millions.
