Post by : Rameen Ariff

In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, the Indian women’s cricket team defeated Pakistan by 88 runs in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. The match marked a significant milestone, as India maintained its dominance over Pakistan in one-day internationals, winning 12 consecutive matches against their arch-rivals.

Batting first, India posted a total of 247 runs. Harleen Deol contributed 46 runs, while Richa Ghosh provided a quick 35-run cameo. Despite challenging conditions on the pitch, the Indian team showed resilience and built a competitive total.

Pakistan’s chase faltered early, with key wickets falling quickly. Sidra Amin was the standout performer for Pakistan, scoring 81 runs, but the disciplined Indian bowling attack led by Kranti Goud, who took 3 wickets for 20 runs, and Deepti Sharma, with 3 wickets for 45 runs, ensured India’s victory. Pakistan was eventually bowled out for 159 runs.

After the match, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur expressed her happiness and pride, saying, “Very happy, very important game for all of us, and I’m sure everyone back home is happy as well.” Her message resonated with cricket fans across India, reflecting the team’s dedication and spirit.

This victory strengthens India’s position in the tournament and highlights the growing dominance of the Indian women’s cricket team on the international stage. With this win, the team has set a positive tone for their upcoming matches and reinforced their reputation as a strong contender for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025.
