Abu Dhabi Set to Host International Autism Conference in 2026

Under the aegis of Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the 4th International Autism Conference is set to take place in Abu Dhabi from 25 to 28 April 2026 at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center.

Organised by the Zayed Authority in partnership with Lotus Holistic Group, ADNOC, and Skills4Mind, the event enjoys the support of key governmental entities such as the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi and the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi.

Expanding the Global Dialogue on Autism

Continuing its legacy, this conference builds on the success of its predecessor, which welcomed over 2,000 attendees from 15 different nations in 2025, establishing itself as a significant global forum focused on autism.

With 1,360 participants hailing from the UAE and upwards of 400 international delegates, the 2026 gathering anticipates exceeding 3,000 attendees from over 25 countries, fostering increased international collaboration.

Exploring New Frontiers: AI and Inclusion

The upcoming event aims to enhance autism care through innovative solutions. It will emphasize:

  • Artificial intelligence and creative solutions

  • Scientific research initiatives

  • Integration into society

  • Workplace inclusion

  • Healthcare excellence

  • Education inclusivity

The conference agenda will include a scientific symposium, specialized workshops, an AI training bootcamp, as well as an innovation exhibition showcasing state-of-the-art technological advancements.

Transformative Potential of AI in Autism Care

Dr. Taha Reda, the Founder of Skills4Mind and leader of the AI and Innovation track, underlined AI's pivotal role in autism care.

He remarked that AI technologies can facilitate early diagnosis, personalized education, improved communication, and emotional support, aiding individuals with autism in achieving greater autonomy and social integration. He also emphasized the necessity for ethical considerations and transparency in technology application.

Emphasizing Family Involvement and Community Impact

The conference corresponds with the UAE’s Year of Family, underlining the significance of familial support in rehabilitation and empowerment.

Abdullah Abdul Aali Al Humaidan, Director General of the Zayed Authority, indicated that the event's objective is to transform knowledge into actionable solutions that improve quality of life.

“We are enhancing AI applications, solidifying collaborations, and striving for sustainable impacts through integrated services and family empowerment,” he stated.

Community Engagement for Greater Awareness

Amina Al Hidan, CEO of the International Autism Conference and Lotus Holistic Group, noted that the event builds upon a robust scientific and societal framework.

She acknowledged the success of the 2025 awareness campaign and announced that Jumana Murad has been appointed Autism Ambassador 2026, recognizing her efforts in advocating for autism families.

Strong Participation from Diverse Sectors

The prior event showcased a rich diversity across sectors, comprising:

  • Over 480 education specialists

  • More than 400 healthcare professionals

  • Over 380 therapists

In terms of participant representation:

  • 78% were service providers

  • 12% came from family and community organizations

  • 10% were leaders and policymakers

This showcases a well-integrated ecosystem dedicated to supporting individuals with autism.

The 2026 conference aspires to initiate impactful initiatives, advanced training programs, and broadened innovation showcases, further solidifying Abu Dhabi’s role as a global research hub for autism care and inclusion.
