Iranian President Criticizes US on Nuclear Negotiations

Iranian President Criticizes US on Nuclear Negotiations

Post by : Raman

New York, Sep 27, 2025: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has publicly criticized the United States for failing to demonstrate sincerity in nuclear negotiations, including talks that occurred before an Israeli strike, during his visit to the UN General Assembly.

Addressing reporters on the sidelines of the assembly, Pezeshkian said the “wall of mistrust” between Iran and the US remains extremely high. He explained that while both countries reached several understandings in previous discussions, these agreements were never taken seriously by the Americans, undermining trust and cooperation.

Pezeshkian’s remarks come amid heightened tensions over Iran’s nuclear program and ongoing concerns regarding regional security. The president stressed that repeated attempts at dialogue have been undermined by a lack of follow-through, leaving Iran skeptical about future negotiations.

The Iranian leader’s criticism also highlighted the Trump administration’s approach to nuclear diplomacy, which, according to Pezeshkian, has consistently lacked transparency and commitment. He suggested that meaningful progress in nuclear talks is impossible without mutual trust and genuine engagement from both sides.

Analysts say that the persistent distrust between Iran and the US poses challenges for global security and the prospects of reviving nuclear agreements. Experts believe that rebuilding credibility and consistent diplomatic engagement are essential for any lasting resolution on nuclear matters.
