Kapil Sharma’s recent comedy, Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2, has had a rocky debut at the box office. On its opening day, the film brought in merely ₹1.75 crore, achieving an occupancy rate of 16.45% in regions where Hindi is predominantly spoken. This starkly contrasts with its predecessor from 2015, which had a robust first-day collection of ₹10.15 crore and continued to thrive throughout the weekend.
In this sequel, Sharma takes on the role of Mohan Sharma, whose attempts to marry his girlfriend lead to a series of comical misadventures. Mohan finds himself balancing four wives while handling mounting family pressures and complicated personal issues. His life descends into chaos further when the police start pursuing him after his confessions. The film features an ensemble cast, including Manjot Singh, Tridha Choudhary, Warina Hussain, Parul Gulati, and Jamie Lever, each contributing their unique touch to the narrative's comedic turmoil.
Reviewers have pointed out that while the film contains some amusing segments and highlights a talented cast, the lengthy duration and foreseeable plot hinder its overall comedic success. Although it remains a suitable option for family viewing, it falls short of recapturing the excitement of the original movie.
Despite its lackluster performance at the box office, Kapil Sharma is poised for a comeback on television with the upcoming fourth season of The Great Indian Kapil Show, slated to premiere on December 20. Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra is rumored to be the season's first guest, generating additional anticipation for the show’s return.
