Martha Stewart, the renowned American entrepreneur and television figure, has officially become a minority co-owner of Swansea City, as confirmed by the Championship club on Tuesday, marking a prominent addition to their ownership roster.
Recognized as a top lifestyle authority and the first self-made female billionaire in the U.S., Stewart recently visited South Wales and attended Swansea’s thrilling Championship match against Wrexham last Friday. The Swans achieved a 2–1 victory in front of an enthusiastic home crowd, an experience that reinforced her bond with the team.
In a statement, Swansea City expressed their excitement about welcoming Stewart, emphasizing that her direct experience with the club's atmosphere and its passionate supporters has deepened her interest in contributing to its future.
Stewart joins a list of global personalities investing in the club, reflecting the trend of celebrity involvement at Swansea. Earlier this year, U.S. music icon Snoop Dogg joined the ownership, while football superstar Luka Modric, a Ballon d’Or winner, became a minority shareholder in April.
The club asserts that this diverse ownership brings enhanced international profiles, commercial viability, and sustained stability as Swansea aims for success both on and off the field.
Currently, Swansea sits at 19th in the Championship standings and is gearing up for a tough match against league leaders Coventry City this Friday, seeking to rise from the lower ranks.
With Stewart on board, Swansea City strengthens their ownership group, underscoring the club's growing allure to high-profile investors spanning sports, entertainment, and business.
