CBFC Approves Mastiii 4 Following Key Edits, Original Stars Return

CBFC Approves Mastiii 4 Following Key Edits, Original Stars Return

Post by : Meena Ariff

The fourth chapter of the popular adult comedy series, Mastiii 4, is primed for its theatrical debut on 21 November after receiving approval from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The board required various edits including visual alterations and dialogue changes, granting the film an ‘A’ rating on 17 November.

CBFC instructed the filmmakers to cut a nine-second scene involving animal behavior and to condense a 30-second close-up of human expressions. Certain dialogues were modified to align with censorship standards: the term behen (sister) was altered in one line, another dialogue saw the term item replaced, and an alcohol brand reference was changed in a specific scene to ensure the film remains within certification norms while keeping its adult-comedy essence.

Directed by Milap Milan Zaveri, Mastiii 4 brings back the beloved stars of the franchise: Vivek Oberoi, Ritesh Deshmukh, and Aftab Shivdasani. This film signifies Aftab Shivdasani's return to the big screen after a six-year hiatus. The cast also includes Elnaaz Norouzi, Shreya Sharma, and Ruhi Singh, along with special appearances by Genelia D’Souza, Arshad Warsi, and Nargis Fakhri.

The Masti saga commenced in 2004 with the first film directed by Indra Kumar, which turned out to be a surprise hit grossing ₹34 crore. Its sequel, Grand Masti, released in 2013, became a massive success, earning more than ₹150 crore globally. The third movie, Great Grand Masti (2016), did not replicate the prior films' triumph. Mastiii 4 continues the series' hallmark adult-comedy style with a blend of returning and new talents.
