Scheduled for 11-12 April 2026 at Fujairah's Zayed Sports Complex, Round 3 of the 3rd Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship (No-Gi) promises to be a highlight on the calendar. Organized by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, this event gathers leading clubs and academies from the UAE, all striving for better standings in this championship edition.
The first day will spotlight categories for Under-12, Under-14, and Under-16 competitors, while the second day will see action from Under-18, Adults, and Masters participants, aligning with the championship's multi-age structure.
In contrast to traditional Gi matches, No-Gi events offer a fast-paced environment that requires sharp reflexes and significant physical control, posing unique challenges as athletes progress through the increasingly competitive rounds.
Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, remarked on the championship's expansion: “The prior rounds showcased remarkable participation and fierce competition. This third round emphasizes consistency and adaptability, particularly in No-Gi where swift decision-making and execution are crucial. We are thrilled to see families cheering for athletes, fostering a positive atmosphere on and off the mat.”
The first round, focusing solely on No-Gi matches, saw Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club leading, followed by Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club in second and Palms Sports Academy - Team 777 in third, highlighting the fierce competitiveness among elite Jiu-Jitsu clubs in the UAE.
This championship remains an essential platform for both novice and seasoned athletes to display their skills, gain invaluable experience, and uplift the overall standard of Jiu-Jitsu in the UAE.
