A nurse in Singapore has been charged in court for allegedly molesting a man at Raffles Hospital. The nurse’s name is Elipe Siva Nagu, and he is 34 years old.
The incident reportedly happened on June 18 at around 7.30 pm. Elipe was in a toilet at a hospital ward when he is said to have grabbed the private parts of a male relative of a patient using his hand.
The police investigated the case, and details about the victim have not been shared in court documents to protect his privacy.
After this incident, Raffles Hospital suspended Elipe from his nursing duties. The hospital said that they take such matters very seriously. They are committed to keeping all patients and their family members safe while they are in the hospital. The hospital also said that they cannot give more details now because the investigation is still going on. However, they promised to continue monitoring the situation closely and will take the necessary actions as the case progresses.
Elipe’s case will be mentioned again in court on July 7. If he is found guilty of molestation, he could be sent to jail for up to three years. He may also be fined, caned, or receive any combination of these punishments.
