On Tuesday, September 17, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bhainsola village in the Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh, marking his birthday with the inauguration of major initiatives focused on women’s health, tribal welfare, and textile development. The visit has been hailed as a milestone in the state’s socio-economic progress.
During the visit, PM Modi inaugurated the “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar evam Poshan” campaign, an initiative aimed at improving women’s health, nutrition, and empowerment. By focusing on women, the program seeks to strengthen families and communities. Alongside this, the “Adi Seva Parv” was launched to support tribal communities with education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities in remote areas. Government officials emphasized that these programs aim to ensure inclusive growth, giving women and tribal populations the resources they need to thrive.
The highlight of the visit was the foundation stone ceremony of the PM MITRA Park, India’s first and largest Greenfield Integrated Textile Park, covering 2,158 acres in Dhar. The park will transform Madhya Pradesh’s cotton sector by converting raw cotton into yarn, fabrics, and garments, reaching national and international markets. Over 3.5 lakh cotton farmers are expected to benefit directly, reducing dependency on middlemen and increasing incomes. Major textile companies have already pledged investments totaling Rs 23,146 crore, signaling strong industry support.
PM MITRA Park is being designed as a model industrial township, with advanced infrastructure including:
81 plug-and-play industrial units ready for manufacturers
20 MLD common effluent treatment plant for sustainable water management
10 MVA solar power unit for clean energy supply
Modern road networks and logistics facilities
Residential and hostel accommodations, with a focus on women workers
The park is expected to generate employment for 3 lakh people, with 60% of jobs reserved for women, promoting gender equality and economic empowerment. Tribal youth in Dhar, Jhabua, Ratlam, and Ujjain are also expected to benefit from training and skill development programs.
Madhya Pradesh has a rich history in textiles, with traditional weaves like Chanderi and Maheshwari, and prints including Bagh and Batik. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav highlighted that earlier cities like Indore, Dewas, and Ujjain had large textile mills, and PM MITRA Park aims to revive the complete textile value chain. By integrating traditional craftsmanship with modern industrial processes, the initiative seeks to create a sustainable, profitable, and globally competitive textile ecosystem.
The PM MITRA Park and associated initiatives are expected to:
Increase farmer incomes by processing cotton locally
Create thousands of employment opportunities, particularly for women and tribal youth
Boost textile exports and strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s presence in global markets
Modernize rural and tribal areas with infrastructure and industrial development
Promote sustainable practices through renewable energy and effluent management
Experts suggest that the project could redefine Madhya Pradesh’s cotton and textile industry, positioning the state as a global textile hub.
The timing of the foundation stone ceremony on PM Modi’s birthday symbolizes his commitment to women empowerment, farmer welfare, and industrial growth. The combined effect of the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar evam Poshan campaign, Adi Seva Parv, and PM MITRA Park represents a strategic vision for inclusive and sustainable development in Madhya Pradesh.
PM Modi’s visit to Bhainsola village is not just ceremonial; it represents a blueprint for the state’s future, combining traditional strengths in cotton and textiles with modern industrial planning, benefiting women, farmers, and tribal communities. With modern infrastructure, international investment, and a focus on skill development, Madhya Pradesh is set to reclaim its position as a leader in India’s textile industry, ensuring growth reaches every section of society.
