Priya Kapur has strongly denied claims regarding unpaid university fees for Samaira Kapoor amidst an ongoing legal conflict over the estate of the late industrialist Sunjay Kapur, who passed away in London this year.
During proceedings at the Delhi High Court, Priya's attorney, Sheyl Trehan, disclosed receipts confirming that payment for Samaira's university fees has been made. The documentation revealed that ₹95 lakh per semester has been settled, with the subsequent installment not due until December. This evidence counters assertions from Karisma Kapoor’s legal counsel, who had stated that two months of tuition remained unpaid for Samaira, currently enrolled in the United States.
The court briefly reviewed the disagreement, with Justice Singh admonishing both parties to keep the courtroom free of unnecessary theatrics. He remarked that such minor disputes should not consistently occupy the court’s time.
This fee-related contention is part of a broader legal struggle over Sunjay Kapur's estate. Karisma Kapoor's children, Samaira and Kiaan, have accused Priya Sachdev Kapur of fabricating Sunjay’s will to exclude them from inheriting. In response, Priya’s legal team has refuted these claims, asserting that it is standard for a husband to bequeath assets to his wife.
Samaira and Kiaan are also seeking a temporary injunction to hinder Priya from selling or altering any of Sunjay’s assets while the case remains active. The court is currently deliberating on this application as the family feud continues.
