Popular Punjabi singer and actor Rajvir Jawanda has passed away at Fortis Hospital, Mohali, Punjab, India, after being on life support for nearly 12 days. The 35-year-old artist suffered critical head and spinal injuries in a road accident near Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, India, on September 27, 2025, when his motorcycle collided with stray cattle that suddenly appeared on the road.
Doctors said Jawanda’s neurological condition remained extremely critical, with minimal brain activity and no significant improvement despite intensive medical care. From the time of the accident, he had been on life support, and his death has left fans and the Punjabi entertainment industry in deep shock.
Rajvir Jawanda was widely loved for his hit songs, including “Surname,” “Kamla,” “Mera Dil,” and “Sardari.” He had also made a mark in Punjabi cinema, appearing in films such as Jind Jaan, Mindo Taseeldarni, and Kaka Ji, earning recognition both for his singing and acting. His contributions to Punjabi music and film made him a prominent figure in the industry.
Jawanda began his musical journey in 2014 with the single “Munda Like Me” and quickly gained fame for his soulful voice and lyrics celebrating Punjabi culture and pride. According to his official Apple Music biography, he had originally aspired to become a police officer but chose to follow his true calling — music. His songs and performances reflected his love for Punjabi traditions and deeply connected with his fans.
The accident occurred when Jawanda was riding his motorcycle near Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, and collided with stray cattle on the road. The impact caused severe head and spinal injuries, and he was immediately admitted to Fortis Hospital, Mohali. Despite intensive medical intervention and continuous monitoring, his condition remained critical, with doctors describing it as “extremely critical” from the beginning.
Fans, fellow artists, and the wider Punjabi entertainment community have expressed deep grief and condolences over his untimely death.
