In a significant move under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy, four Saudi companies – TAQA, ADES Holding, Arabian Drilling, and ARGAS – have entered into agreements with the Syrian Petroleum Company to enhance operational support and develop oil and gas fields within Syria. This initiative builds upon previous memoranda signed on August 28, 2025, following a series of technical workshops and site inspections of gas facilities.
These agreements encompass several pivotal projects. ADES Holding has committed to developing and managing five key gas fields: Abu Rabah, Qamqam, North Al-Faydh, Al-Tiyas, and Zumlat al-Mahar, with ambitions to boost production and explore future expansions. TAQA, on the other hand, has secured a master service agreement emphasizing advanced energy solutions aimed at the construction and maintenance of oil and gas wells through the use of cutting-edge equipment and technologies to enhance efficiency.
ARGAS has formalized a long-term master service agreement to carry out both 2D and 3D seismic surveys, in addition to providing technical backing for exploration and drilling efforts. The collaboration is poised to improve petroleum exploration capabilities and implement rapid-response operations across Syria's energy sector. Furthermore, Arabian Drilling has contracted to deliver drilling and workover services, including the supply of rigs, operational assistance, and training for the workforce in oil and gas responsibilities.
These agreements significantly bolster the cooperative framework between Saudi Arabia and Syria in the realm of energy, showcasing a collective commitment to developing petroleum resources, elevating production levels, and integrating modern technological advancements. The partnerships are designed to foster sustainable development within Syria's oil and gas landscape.
By highlighting the strategic contributions of Saudi firms, the agreements exemplify how technical expertise, operational support, and innovative strategies can further the advancement of Syria's oil and gas infrastructure, paving the way for mutually beneficial outcomes in production and efficiency.
